I have to say that i think that this is a top advert, i love the sequence of CrucialBMX and Macneil rider Vincent Mayne blasting his street skills and the mixture of 2013 bikes chosen. The advert was designed about 6 months after the photographs were taken, i sat on them a good while until i found the perfect way to drop them. I used them in this advert because i feel the sequence was a good reason for people to stop on the page and hopefully take notice of the new bikes we had arriving at that time. The sequence can also be made pretty small but gives a big impact as people have to physically stop look at each individual picture to work out what the hell is going on.
This advert was ran in BMX Basics which is a free magazine that is distributed by shops and in RIDE BMX UK Magazine. The idea of BMX Basics is that it give younger or first time riders the basic knowledge of Tricks, Skatepark Etiquette, Good bike products, Repairing bikes and the differences between the BMX disciplines.
As i mentioned before, the actual sequence photograph was shot 6 months before this advert ever was designed. It was a grim weekend in May that i had arranged to go down to Brighton to hangout with Vince/Max/Jon T and a few Brighton dudes. We were riding all day, someone was filming for something (I think Bill attempted to jump off a roof at some point), and i remember it being pretty cold and not that great a day. I thought that nothing was going to happen and i would come home empty handed. We rolled up on this little rail setup that is normally a bust, a few people started to session it but nothing that great was going down however out of nowhere Vince decided to slam this over double peg to gap ice and back over...
It was killer. It made my trip, the day and ended up complimenting this advert perfectly:
